Free Opening Pages Critique
Are your opening pages strong enough to hook an agent?
Send me the first 1,000 words of your manuscript and I’ll send back honest, specific feedback on your opening: what’s working, what’s holding it back, and the first thing I’d fix. (Free, but limited to three per month with a waiting list.)
Editorial Assessment
I’ll read your first three chapters and a synopsis, and provide you with a written report, giving you guidance on what works, the areas that could be improved, and where to focus your next draft. This is especially useful if you want direction before committing to a full edit. From €200 (flat fee).
Proofread with Copy-edit
This focuses on punctuation, spelling, and grammar, and I will provide a light copy-edit. This is for manuscripts with a solid structure that need sentence-level polish for consistency and clarity. From €100 per 10,000 words.
Developmental Edit
This is the deepest level of edit, and the one that most first-time novelists actually need before submitting to an agent or publisher. This edit looks at the overall manuscript as well as individual chapters, and takes into account plot, tension, structure, voice, character development, dialogue, and language, advising on all elements. For manuscripts that need work on plot, pacing, character believability, and overall shape. From €140 per 10,000 words.
Editorial Workshop
Are you stuck? Perhaps you’ve got a great start to your book, or a brilliant character, or a unique ‘what if’ scenario and are unsure where to go from there. What you need is a fresh pair of eyes to kickstart your creativity. I’ll read what you have so far, then we can brainstorm your next steps. You’ll leave this workshop with a clear plan for your next draft, and I’ll provide you with a written report to refer to afterwards. €100 for 30 mins.
Fees
Every manuscript is different, so final fees may vary slightly by length and condition. You’ll always get a firm price before any work begins.
