My name is Alex Donald, otherwise known as The Editor. I am a freelance editor specialising in literary and commercial fiction, women’s fiction, memoir and biography. With over ten years’ experience across many forms of writing and editing, I have worked with individual writers in fiction and memoir, and currently work on a freelance basis with publishers here in Ireland including Gill, Lilliput Press, Mercier Press, and Wordwell Books.
I truly believe that books are the gateway to understanding other worlds and experiences beyond our own, and I love to help writers achieve their best work. My aim as an editor is to inspire, and to collaborate with honesty and compassion.
Aside from reading as much and as often as possible, in my spare time I love playing drums (alone because I’m awful), watching movies, and meeting old friends and new dogs.
